win7 Home Premium 64-bit

Hi Lomai,
And I Thank all of you for your replys!
Jumper set to master on dvd-cd-burner. Hooked up to the motherboard via IDE cable.( the motherboard only has one IDE cable slot). Nothing else is on the IDE cable. The motherboard also has 4-SATA 2 cable slots. One (SATA-1) of these 4 has the harddrive hooked up to it. This is a brand new dvd/cd burner. The od one acted exactly the same way....played audio cd.....but no sound.
I just took it to PC repair shop and they have tried 3- new sound no avail...and they are stumped. I left the PC with them and they are going to try find an older Creative sound card, hoping that win7 will accept the driver.

Again Thank You for your response and anymore suggestions will be APPRECIATED. And if the tech guys find anything out, I will post the information.

Best Regards
