I have been buying HP Pro Books and HP Elites (over $1800) for years both for work and for home use. The quad core will last longer for you. I still have one from 5 years ago and it is still my main laptop (I have a HP Mini 110-1030nr and HP Mini 501 for traveling and for my parrents).

It says it has 4GB of RAM how much RAM can you have on 64bit, and do you think I should put more, also is one of those things with the fans that you put the laptop on top of good to have?
