Well the sidebar executable is the faulting app in a lot of these.
I would like you to try killing the sidebar.exe process in the task manger. (if you need instructions just say so)
and then closing the lid and seeing if the problem occurs. (save any work first in case it does)
The sidebar will come back on automatically the next time you reboot.
