192.168.1.101 These are internal IP's

Now I want to connect to my office laptop using remote desktop connection?
While I wouldnt use remote desktop unless I had to you will need to have the router allow connections to the ports remote desktop uses. (your IT guys will help you there)
Is is possible?
Please help me out or just provide me with a link which has the explanation to my problem..
Thanks in advance.
