Mike, look on that website for your network adapter driver, and see if a slightly older driver to replace the newer one works better. I had a very similar problem once where this did the trick. But before you do, make sure you check windows update and install all that needs to be installed.

Also, is the LAN connection working fine? So your wireless isn't doing well but LAN is?

This here can be very helpful, including the option to reset IE, reset DNS cache, etc: Troubleshooting Internet Explorer Issues <-- Make sure you do #6 & #7, even if you don't want to do the rest!

IF you choose not to reset IE, you can try to delete temporary internet files in disk cleanup
