Right click on the desktop and click on View and Show Desktop Items (uncheck). You can still add shortcuts to the desktop to add to the toolbar, with them still being hidden on the desktop.

Doh! it's the simple things, ain't it ....

But I am still curious about if the Textless icons will work or not....

The other folders won't have all those folders that the desktop folder had - computer, etc....
