It's just for the folder you're having trouble with, and the syntax error was the "<Private>". It doesn't need the < > around it; I just used the brackets to indicate that you should use the actual folder name.

To remove the read only attribute, use attrib -r
I appreciate that you are trying to help, but the attribute change you suggest will only make the folder visible. It will not change the permissions on the folder or the ownership. We need to see what the permissions status is with icacls and then set it up appropriately for the directory, subdirectories, and files.
