I am unable to choose 1366x768 for my Toshiba LCD-tv.
I tried using custom resolution but that resolution doesn't work.

I've got a Nvidia 8800gt.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance,

Christian

Does your LCD TV set support 1366x768? We have two LCD HDTV sets here at home - one supports that resolution and the other does not. It supports 1280x720 instead, which is true 720P.

Bye.

I'm having this problem too. I have an older Sharp LCD TV that's 1366x768 native. Now, here's the weird thing, the TV doesn't advertise that it supports 1366x768 even though it does, so I had to create a custom resolution on XP. So, even though the TV didn't advertise it supported 1366x768 (via EDID I suppose?), on XP, the nVidia Control Panel let me create it and use that resolution and everything worked swimmingly. However, on Windows 7, the nVidia Control Panel won't let me create the custom resolution, it keeps insisting it's not supported. And I suppose technically it isn't supported by the TV because it's not even in the user manual, but like I said, I know it actually is because I used that resolution when I used to use XP.

I was using nVidia drivers 162.xx on XP and using 190.xx with Windows 7. I tried downgrading to 162.xx with Windows 7 but it won't let me use Aero if I do that so I didn't even bother trying further. Is there any trick in Win7 to force a "non-supported" resolution when creating custom resolutions with the nVidia Control Panel?

EDIT: I'm using a DVI-D connection by the way with a nVidia 6200, and the SHARP TV is the LC-37D5U

I got the EXACT same problem. Under WXP everythin worked fine for me too. Under W7 I can only create 1360x768@50hz , 1366x768 can not be created.

PLEASE HELP!

Some graphics cards do not support certain resolutions. My monitor is 1366 by 768. It is only in HD when it is at this resolution (this is it's native one), and any other resolution it is set to blurs the screen a bit.

It worked on XP. So i suppose it has to work on 7 aswell.

I could be way off here but it sounds to me like the drivers had something trimmed out which allowed you guys to setup, I had to read this cause my laptop is 1366 x 768 and when I read it the first time I thought it was an odd rez. Strange that the option is gone considering a lot of laptops from what i have read run at this rez now.
