You might see if running a
sfc /scannow command can fix the problem with the path not being found.
I do not know how to do it with only WMP not included, but you should be able to also enable it through the Local Group Policy Editor. It will be under
Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->System->Internet Communication Management->Internet Communication settings, then disable (not configured)
Turn off Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program.
