add-on's are definitely the problem for new IE
I had the same problem and then I looked over the list of add-on's that were in my IE8; removed all the add-on's except for Microsoft's. I have not seen the browser freezing problem for 2 weeks since I removed all the other non-Microsoft add-on's.
Here's the reason why; those company's who created those add-on's were meant for older versions of IE. I heard skype has updated its add-on since IE7 came out but they have not since IE8 came out. So for some reason it worked for IE7 and not for IE8.
So folks, either you have to wait for them to upgrade their add-on's to be compatible with IE8 or keep using the older versions of IE until they do so. |
