Maybe it's a stupid question,but I can't figure it out how...?
At this moment,I have Win 7 buil 7000 32 bit installed,and I want install x64 version,so I have downloaded Win7 build 7048 x64,but it's not a bootable ISO file.
I managed to make an ISO,but have never did and don't know how to make a bootable ISO file,I have already tried several programs(PowerISO,MagicDisc,ImgBurn,Nero 8),but every time I burn an image on disc,it doesn't work.
If there is someone who is willling to explain me correct way step by step,I'll be really greatful.
Thank you for not laughing.

I am honestly confused, make the iso bootable?
As in make it boot from daemon tools ( or a similar app? ) is not possible.
I know some iso burners have issues with dvd's but i believe imgburn can do it.
As far as booting from the dvd ull have to change ur boot order upon start up.
I am kinda confused sry : \

If you have UltraISO you can use that.

Uf,I didn't explain it very well.I'm sorry, that's probably because of my bad english.
What I meant is that I have downloaded Win 7 build 7048 x64,and when I burn it on DVD disc,so I can install it later,it's not bootable.
It wasn't ISO,but I tried to make it an image,an image like it was build 7022 which I downloaded from microsoft.com.
It doesn't matter to me either it is an image or not,I just want it to be bootable when I burn it to DVD.
I hope I made it a bit easier to understand.

I too have great difficulty understanding How I can make a bootable DVD.

I have UltraISO.

I cannot understand what files to put on the DVD.
Is it just the ISO file.
Is it a bin file and a cue file.
Do I expand the ISO - using WinRAR - and put the expanded files on the DVD.

If you have UltraISO, please tell me the steps to make a bootable DVD that I can use to Install Seven. Confused :o
Thanks,

maybe someone else can shed some light but my process was:
download the iso
burn the image to a dvd
power down
power back up and boot from dvd.

I dont recall a setup option to make the dvd bootable?
Is your dvd drive bootable in the bios?
Did you get a bad iso?

Hi guys

Assume you are using Ultra ISO

1) extract the Bootable file the DVD from any bootable DVD build of W7 from 7000 onwards but use the same type of version (x-32, or X-64) that you are going to install.

2) save this as a .BIF file (you can also save it as an .ima or .img file . It will probably be called microsoft.img

3) copy all the W7 files from your "non bootable" dvd to say a directory W7.

4) in the Ulta ISO do select load boot image and load this file into your complilation.

5) Now add all the Windows 7 files you have put in the W7 directory. (Omit the directory you called it e.g W7 --just add all the files and directories under this one).

6) Burn the DVD.

(If you need Ultra ISO it's on the major torrents).

Q.E.D

Cheers

Yesss...and I thought so,but..there has to be always at least one "but"...

There is my problem,I don't have any other Win7 x64 DVD,and because of that I am asking a question if maybe there is some other way to make it work, without earlier win7 64-bit version.

I was doing it just like that in my first tries, but it doesn't work.
Build x64 has one "bootmgr.efi" more than 32-bit version.I've tried to put "bootmgr" from 32-bit version,but it didn't work,even if I move away another "bootmgr",that "bootmgr.efi".
So,if there are not other solutions, that means if I don't find standalone bootfile(2 of them) for 64-bit version somewhere on the net,I'll have to download win7 x64 build 7000 so I can extract that files, and put them into 7048 build.:cry:

Thank you on your time anyway,Jimbos.

Hi -- you need to extract the boot record FROM THE DVD -- it's not the bootmgr in the DATA files. Use Ultra ISO or ISO buster to extract the boot record -- I think even a VISTA DVD boot record might work -- the name is usually something like MICROSOFT.IMG or MICROSOFT.IMA.

Cheers

Finally solved, but on a harder way.
Had to download correct win 7 build 7000 64-bit version, extract it and manually change file.Since there was no .ima or .img file on DVD,I changed that bootmgr file on DVD which I was talking about at beginning at it did worked.
Thank you on your time, guys,I really appreciate it.

Hi
Can you make your own thread with your problem.
As much info as you can.

As a matter a fact, my problem is quite the same as Drazenn's. I have downloaded Win7Pro from Microsoft, purchased license, but all those files when burned on DVD doesn't make that DVD bootable, so it's not possible to make clean installation.

My Computer

OS
Win XP Pro
Problem solved.

I've used vLite v1.1.6 to create .ISO file from all files downloaded from Microsoft and then simply made bootable DVD disc by Ashampoo BS v.9, from that .ISO created by vLite.
