Yeah when software issues are in cause, I will usually go for fresh clean install all the way That's why I try not to have many files on my main HD until my system has been proven stable for some times. Render the need of reinstall less painfull.

You could always try a repair/upgrade install thought. Leave windows installed. Boot from windows 7 dvd then use the option ''Upgrade'' instead of custom install.

That should do the trick. Hope this help in some ways.
