I've had this issue. I may have to try disabling/uninstalling RAID drivers, but I'd rather not as I need the read.
Currently the issue seems to be cause by a device/driver causing high DPC latency DPC Latency Checker
Disabling the USB 3.0 controller in the UD3R BIOS seems to have fixed it for me. The issue has always begun with the Windows logo, but I've been running for a couple of hours now without it occurring.
P.S., I haven't had the issue of crashing when playing video with AC3 audio. I don't have any sources with DTS audio streams.
I've had similar audio popping/static when using both a Creative USB headset and a Creative X-Fi discrete sound card. I am not certain, however, that these were the same issue.
