    Disc imaging

I'd like to transfer a disc image onto other hard drives and install into a different machine like say my computer crashes and I op for a new one and want to transfer over everything with a quick one two punch.

I did so without problem using macrium reflect

I had peviously made an image of a perfectly formated hard drive

Then used the program to transfer the disc image onto another drive

But when I go to load windows for the first time it keeps rebooting. If I go to do a recovery with the windows xp disc it says ntldr is missing please reboot system and I can never actually get into windows or repair it.

Chances are you can find your answer here:

Macrium Reflect Disk Imaging and Backup - Support

If you have the paid Macrium you can register. If you are using free, you can still look through the problems for a solution.

Did you copy the hidden System Reserved partition as well as the main one? That's where your boot loader is.

I just copied over the entire image on the disc.

Did that include the System Reserved partition?

Have a look here, it's long - but worth it:
