    W7 Recovery D is empty

Will this cause any problem? I was calling MS this am when my disc stopped as i was trying a repair install. But it corrected during our conversation so I aborted and we stop the trouble ticket.

I have had 3 installs to erase the Vista recovery D Trs or STRs.
Maybe W7 doe not have a recovery drive since they have the disc recovery.

Did you install Win 7 with a retail disk or did it come on your computer when you purchased it? If you installed it yourself using a CD, then it will not have a recovery drive.

HI, I have W 7 upgrade, which MS say can do all if I want to professional wipe (format ) my drive. They have a code to put. Last week I took the computer to Best Buy and Geek Squad and they would do a format and install. It seems this problem is from the Compaq, HP and other priority machines. I have been here before. I am now finding my program, IsAdminOptons, showing I am not the ADMIN. Just had to take ownership and now I have this problem. I will call MS tomorrow. Keeping you posted. Avie

How do you know that the D Recovery partition is empty?

You can test it to see if it will run Vista Recovery as you then have a path back to Vista if you ever want to sell the machine and keep your Win7 retail upgrade for yourself.

However if the Recovery partition is gone or disabled then you can delete it using the Custom Drive Options from the booted Win7 DVD installer. Repartition as you wish, then format before installing Win7 to first partition.

    Clean Install Windows 7
