Once a month I make a copy of my Hard Drive with the free Macrium Reflect or Paragon and put it on an external hard drive.
I use system image to back up on my hard drive
I use back up and restore to back up to my hard drive
I also back up my stuff the old fashioned way on a finger drive.

Unless, I get a virus or HD failure, I am all set. In the event of hard drive failure, I have everything safely put away.

Back up and restore works great (backing up on the hard drive), It has saved valuable documents or pics for me more than once.

There is also shadow copies. You can return just one doucment to a previous version.

As the others have said the Win 7 backup and restore work great, but I have this one problem. I have always been too lazy to backup my files on a regular basis. I discovered Mozy Home Backup. It is an online feature that backs up my HD everynight while I sleep for five bucks a month.

    Sounds good.

You can also automate Win 7 to backup.
