Restore Not Working After Office Uninstall

    Hi Guys

I need help with my Daughter's Toshiba laptop. She is away at college and I am helping remotely.

I was having her uninstall 2007 Office Enterprise to install Office home & student.

In the uninstall programs, there were 2 choices; 2007 Office system and Office 2007 Enterprise.

I had her uninstall the first (system) one and on reboot, she got Office search errors, etc and now has no wireless internet connection.

I had her try restore but it gives a config or corruption error and will not continue. Trying restore in safe mode acts the same.

I then had her try to uninstall the Office 2007 Enterprise program and it gives errors saying that it can't uninstall it!

She needs her laptop for school and we're feeling helpless at the moment.

Should we try the reg file from here?:

System Restore - Enable or Disable

    Thanks for any help!!!

    edit:

    This is the restore error:

System restore does not appear to be functioning correctly on this system. A volume shadow copy service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the application event log for more information (x080042302)

should you decide you wish to do a system restore , it can be accessed by typing system restore in the search box in the start menu

It has been use in Windows7 and the FixIt group only exists since about 1 year.
