Too many problems on my computer and nobody is able help fix them so now I have to go and reinstall my computer. I want to backup my data on the computer so I don't lose it. How do I do this?

First try running a Repair Install: Repair Install - Windows 7 Forums.URL

Backup your active User files to external HD, to another computer on network, or to DVD.

gregrocker, I don't this disk. I didn't buy the windows 7 install disk, I bought an entire new computer that had Windows 7 already installed on it. The only disk that came with is so if the computer fully stops working and I can't even log it then I could use that disk and that will wipe out everyhting on my computer and reinstall the system to what it was at start when I bought the computer. I will have to backup everything on my computer and use that other disk.

If you can locate or borrow a Win7 install DVD for your version, then you can run the Repair Install.

What are the exact problems you're having? They might be related to the pre-installed bloatware which came with the computer and will be reinstalled by the Recovery DVD's you have- unless you were lucky to get a Win7 Install DVD, in which case it should run the Repair Install if you put it in the drive while in Win7.

Is this a Laptop or desktop ? Do you have more than one HD ? Do you have an external HD, or access to use one ? Have you looked at Windows Easy transfer to save settings, files, etc ?
