    Hi again,
Before I uninstall Panda Global Protection 2010, I would like to know if the Free Microsoft Security Essentials is a good and reliable anti-virus compare to Panda Global Protection 2010 because I had bought 6 months ago a 3 year license which is kind of sad. Also, do you why I can't open desktop gadgets since I did a BSOD? Ok, I'll wait for your response, thanks.
If you have 2010 Panda installed, here is the removal tool for that version: Tool. Did you have an older version of Panda installed previously? I ask because of the out dated Panda drivers.

Yes, MSE and Windows Firewall will protect you just as well as Panda. Keep in mind that there are no anti-malware programs in existence that will give 100% protection. If you had rather not use MSE, you can install Avast; it generally runs well with Win 7. In fact, Avast and MSE can run simultaneously on the same system. However, I would not try that until you know your system is running smoothly. While you are troubleshooting, I recommend MSE.

I have used MSE and it works well. Currently, I am running Avast. I experiment with different antivirus programs on my system.

I do not know why your desktop gadgets are not working unless it is the memory corruption cause by the faulty drivers.
    Hi CarlTr6,
About the driver update for creative, I'm pretty sure I have a SB X-FI XtremeGamer but when I go to their support site, I can't find the update drivers listed in red (Post #12). I don't know if I do something wrong but I just can't locate it. All the creative drivers (Post #12, in red) should come in a package right? Also, I looked to see my model number in the back of my pc but I could't locate it, there is suppose to have a white sticker but I don't see it. Do you have an idea or a direct link to that specific driver ? I just downloaded a driver that I think is the one but not sure, it is: SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0015 ..... Do you think it's the right one for my Sound Blaster SB X-FI XtremeGamer?

    Thanks,

    Yannik

According to your System Information, the driver is up to date.
Name Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM)
    Manufacturer Creative Technology, Ltd.
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\ctaud2k.sys (6.0.1.1368, 668.27 KB (684,312 bytes), 8/24/2010 2:21 PM)
Don't worry about the drivers for now. Just run your system and enjoy. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will go from there. If you have not gotten a BSOD in two or three days, let us know. Maybe we can mark this thread as solved.

I thought that was the case. I am not sure why the old one was showing up in the dump. Maybe that dump was created before an update? At any rate, I think he is good to go - I hope.. :)
