Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management.

If you see your drive but there is no letter listed, right click the drive > Change Drive Letters or path assign/Change to the letter G and your drive should show up in My Computer and Windows Explorer.

If this doesn't work check Device Manager to see if the drive is listed

If you see your drive ( Probably new Volume ) but there is no letter listed, right click the drive > Change Drive Letters or path assign/Change to the letter G and your drive should show up in My Computer and Windows Explorer.

The drive listed as new volume could be your backup drive ( if the size was the same )
Just assign a drive letter for it to show up in my computer, Explore drive if it is the drive that contains your back ups then you can rename it eg: backup.
