Norton 360 will backup the files on the computer that it is running on, but you will still need a dedicated file backup program and an external storage disk to back files up to more than 1 PC.

There is s big difference between Norton 360's Backup and Recovery feature and how File Backup software functions...

1) Norton 360 backups all the files every time, and there is no Incremental Backup.

2) The Restore feature in Norton 360 is unable to restore a single file from a backup set.

If this is what you were looking for in Backup and Recovery software then fine, but Norton 360 is not dedicated file backup software.

If you are looking for a program that will incrementally backup the files on your computer and automatically transfer only the new files to any other computer through an external drive then Karen's Replicator will do a very efficient and highly accurate job of seeing that all of the important files on all of your computers are fully backed up at whatever interval you choose and it will not conflict with your Backup and Recovery program.

I installed Norton 360 v4 on an old computer yesterday to see how it works.

Why don't you and after you can tell me what it can't do with credibility?

Edit: Just performed a backup, an incremental backup, deleted all original files and restored one file of my choosing. I decided not to change the restore location and let it restore to the default, original location.

I stopped running all Norton products after they let Malware onto my Vista computer and I found out that their software was regularly sending a list of the running programs back to Norton headquarters.

The first thing I did when I got my Win 7 computer was to install Revo Uninstaller Pro x64 and completely remove Norton and all of its 1,400+ Registry keys and values. After becoming a Member of Windows 7 Forums I have seen this same advice given quite often in many different threads.

The bottom line is that Norton 360 does have backup and recovery software, but it is simply not a file backup program and can not do scheduled incremental file backups to as many locations and computers as the user may find necessary as JerometheGiraff was inquiring about whereas Karen's Replicator was designed to do these kinds of backups.
