The Race: Acronis vs Shadowprotect vs Paragon Now that I have the WinPE based Recovery disks for Acronis TIH 2011, Paragon HD Manager Suite 2010, and ShadowProtect Desktop v4, I decided to run a quick test to determine the image size and time taken to create the image yesterday night. Used space in the System partition to be imaged: 40.7 GB 1. Before taking the image, the system partition was cleaned with CCleaner and Glary Utilities. Registry was cleaned and optimized with Glary Utilities. The system partition was then defragmented with Perfect Disk 11.Used Space 40.7 GB. 2. All the imaging was done booting with the WinPE ISOs on the Multiboot pendrive and writing to another partition in the same RAID 0 drive with the system partition. Usually I copy the image to an external drive later. 3. Acronis Imaging had to be timed manually since it only indicates time remaining to completion which keeps adjusting as the imaging progresses. Shadowprotect and Paragon indicate the exact time taken at the end while the time to completion is also indicated accurately during the progress. 4. The default normal compression used for all the three imaging.
