Can't select an option at Windows Recovery Screen

I very rarely have to deal with the Windows Recovery Screen but when I do I cannot make a selection. I always have to wait out the 30 second timer and I can never move to select other options such as safe mode.

My keyboard is installed properly and I have tried several different keyboards.

This has been going on for over a year since I got Windows 7, and I've just been ignoring it until now.

Thanks in advance for any info.

You are using a wireless keyboard which I'm sure is causing the problem. Hook up a wired (USB or PS2) keyboard temporarily and that will allow you to do what you need.

Not sure how to solve the wireless keyboard problem, since the driver itself is not loaded until Win 7 boots.

I actually just got this wireless keyboard less than a week ago. Up until then I've used a wired keyboard with the same issues. So I don't think the keyboard is the problem.

Is USB Keyboard Support disabled in your BIOS?
