Can't Stop XP Dual Boot Restore Delete

Running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and Windows XP Pro 32 bit on a new MaxForce PC. Want to eliminate the deleting of System Restore points on Win 7, so I followed the tutorial posted by Brink. Downloaded the registry change file and installed on XP. Verified that the registry values had been changed. But, I'm still able to see both drives and all the files on XP. Ran a test and set a restore point first on Win 7, then on XP. Restore point was wiped out on Win 7. Anyone know another way to defeat the XP delete?

If I can't get the workaround to work, I would like to disable the system restore on the XP side. I found a screen where I can disable system restore, but it will disable Restore for both drives, which I don't want to do. I would like to keep Restore on the Windows 7 side. Anyone got a way to do that?
