    Back up and restore

I am trying to set up the back up process in Windows 7. This is the first time i have used this process.

I select the 'back up your computer' and 'set up back up options' from the control panel but i do not get the back up wizard as i understand i should. I just get a Windows Explorer view.
I have tried it with either a DVD in the drive ready or a flash drive connected.
Not sure if it's connected but i get the same problem when trying to access 'jump' lists - right clicking a taskbar item and selecting one of the options just takes me to the system 32 file view in Windows Explorer.
Laptop came pre-loaded with Acer Backup Manager and Norton Online Backup ( both of which i have not used ). Would these conflict with Windows 7 back up?

When i first switched on the laptop it prompted me to create a recovery disc(s), which i did, i think via some Acer software - is this connected?

I am using Windows7 Home Premium on a Acer 7741G laptop.

You have to start your own thread and not highjack this one. Else it will get very messy.

What are you trying to backup. Just your own files/folders or the whole system. And for backups you should have an external disk. DVDs are not very useful.
