This is what I use to backup Firefox. I believe
it can be used for Thunderbird as well.

I backed up firefox and thunderbird with FEBE and TEBE and am now cleaning the drive with diskpart. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. :)

Okay, now I am having some trouble with diskpart. For some reason it will not clean the ssd. I have followed the steps outlined in this guide SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation
I have disconnected all other hdd's in the system and the ssd is the only one left, it is also connected to sata 0 port. Last night I tried running it and it went for over 2 hours before giving me an error message that I didn't write down and now can't remember. I immediately restarted diskpart after the error and ended up leaving it running over night. It is still running, seems to be stuck at #3 with the blinking cursor and not doing anything. It has been about 6 hours now. Any ideas? Thanks

I ended up downloading GParted and burned it to cd, then wiped the ssd with no problems. I'm just about to start the Win7 reinstall.

I would have used Wiper or Sanitary Erase to clean the OCZ Gen1. That would give you a performance boost (for write operations) since it you probably have no Trim. Guide Sanitary Erase and Wiper

I upgraded the firmware from 1.5 to 1.6 and it supports trim.

That's good. I did that too with my Gen1.

I just found where I can choose which files and folders I want to backup. If I select Program Files, Program Files (x86) and Program Data would I be able to restore all my programs to their current states? Or will I still have to reinstall them all along with activation codes?
This is separate from getting your SSD sorted.
"Backup & Restore" has 2 very different parts.
    (1) Images (snapshot of everything). Here you may get partition options
    (2) File/folder backup. Only here will you get folder options. I'd pick the default folders (generally all personal material). Add any additional folders with care.
Don't select anything like Programs, Programsx86 that's taken care of with images. It generally will only let you tick these boxes to back up non system contents - don't bother.
