    Windows Image Backup Problems

    Dear All,

I've stumbled on this forum after doing some google searches for similar problems, but I cant find the answer.

I had an Intel based PC running 4 Sata II hard drives, once is a stand alone backup drive (G Drive) only which backes up the entire OS and respective files on C Drive. The OS System C Drive packed up last night reducing my PC to 3 hard drives.

I have now reinstalled Windows 7 (Home Premium) onto my 2 TB drive after failing multiple times to successfully restore the PC using the system image.

I dont know whether the system image is corrupt or whether there is nothing else occuring but it will fail to restore and say that the data disk is active in the bios.

I have tried changing the active to different disks but this does not do anything, and each failure means I need to reinstall Windows....

    HELP!

did you have raid on those 4 drives? if yes you may need to replace the 4th drive in order for the raid to rebuild the data. i dont think its possible to run a raid system without replacing the bad drive with a good one

    Hi Sonicmaster,

No I was not running these hard drives as a raid, each was run as individual drives.
