It "sees" c: only (and the optical drive) but I'm not sure it's seeing even c: correctly because I copied the image file and the xml file to that location to no avail.
Very disappointing - it's a free product and therefore I can't really grumble except to say I can see why it's free......it doesn't work

Why did you copy the xml file ?
With the boot disc, you just browse to the .mrimg ( macrium image file), pick it up, select restore partition, click "Finish".
Had another try, the c: drive it sees is actually the DVD drive, it's now not seeing the hard drive at all.
Mapped my networked laptop to see if it would see that (and then I'd stick the image file on there and do it that way) but that function of the program doesn't work either!
Clicking "cancel" brings up a "your computer will now reboot".......and it sits there and does nothing so that's something else that's broken!
There seems to be a rare incompatibilty with the drivers supplied in the Linux cd and your system.
It can happen with any of the free apps.
For 99% of systems , it works.
The pebuilder plugin will be better - you need to put it on a pe/pe2/pe3 boot disc.
I normally use the pe version - however, I just tried the Linux version - works perfectly for me.
No, you can d/l it from the free - or trial versions.
You need to have macrium installed on XP to be able to d/l it ( strangely ).
Typically people would add it to their Bartpe discs ( that's an app. which makes a pe1 aka xp pe disc for you ).
You can put it on pe2 or pe3 boot media as well - works beautifully.

if it says you need segate drives just hold alt-T-O then ok

Is the key press sequence for WD version the same ? I think they use at1i 14 - the seagate one is ati11
