Hi to all,

When I format my hardrive and re-installed win7, I realized that I did not backup some of my very important files. I ran Recover My Files software and recovered some of my files but not all. Later, I realized that there also recovered many system restore files about 17gig under "System Volume Information".

I was wondering if there is any software that can get the files in these recovered system files. OR is there a way to restore these files using the same or different machine?

Thank you

Jeff

System restore generally only backups system files and registry values, unless you specifically tell it otherwise, it will not make backups of your private or my doc area files. Now that you've reformatted + written new data the odds of a complete recovery of just about anything is pretty limited. Unless you are now on a different hard drive than you were before. If that's the case all you really need to do is take ownership of the files on the old drive, you should then be able to pull them off.

Thank you for your quick answer. How can I take the ownership of the files?
