    Dear Laker,
You and i need to do some "serious" browsing to get to the bottom of this puzzle! I unearthed a Mac-Ref Q& A sequence which seems to have a bearing on the prob.we are facing. Kindly read this link : http:/http://support.macrium.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=158/

Ok, here's the issue. After restoring a previous image of my OS, Macrium Reflect Free will no longer schedule a back up. An error message is given when creating a scheduled backup: "Keyset does not exist". Checking the Macrium Support Forums informs me that it is a Windows Task Scheduler problem. Unfortunately the suggested fix does not work. The solution given is to delete all files in the %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18 folder in Safe mode, then restart. The files I deleted weren't recreated and the same error occurrs when creating a scheduled backup.

The strange thing is that I have restored this particular image several times without problems. Has anyone come across this problem before and was able to correct? Is there a known cause? Calling all Macrium gurus-Wolfgang, are you available?

See System Specs for configuration. My single drive is partitioned thus: C-OS, D-Users/ProgramData & M-Media/Downloads. Win7 Ultimate install is via Kari's excellent tutorial User Profiles - Create and Move During Windows 7 Installation. I've had no other issues with this install for the past 3 months.

After the second time trying, this fixed it for me:

In Windows Explorer make sure you set to show hidden files and un-tick Hide protected operating system files.

I copied the files in C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18 to another location, just in case, then deleted all files in that location (S-1-5-18).

    Reboot.

Right click the above location and choose Properties, then choose Security. Make sure Administrators ([computer name]/Administrators has full permissions.
Just to cover all my bases, I made sure that myname([my name]-PC\[my name]) also had full permissions.

After that I could edit all my Macrium backups and make new ones without getting the "Keyset does not exist error."

I was thinking that maybe SP1 broke this, then I found people having the same problem even before Windows 7 came out, so I don't know what caused it in the first place.

The first time I tried this, when I would edit a backup I would get the "Access denied" error. I think maybe it was because I didn't set permissions in the second sequence above, but I don't know that for sure. Maybe I messed up somewhere else.

Hope this helps, if you are even still using Macrium.
