    Windows 7 backup problem

Hi there. I feel that the windows 7 backup is quite nebulous, unlike xp's. You don't really know ahead of time WHAT is being backed up. I guess what I want to accomplish is backup my windows installation only. And when I choose what to back up, instead of letting windows choose, the windows folder is not listed, only some libraries. If I let windows choose, I get the impression that it's backing up the entire disk, which I don't need. How can I tweak it to MY preference and get MY expected results? Thanks for your help.

    Hi mate !
I always back up my System Reserved drive and C drive entirely using Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup technique .

If you want more customized back up mechanism, you may try Acronis or Norton Ghost .

Making a system image is a good idea. I do it on a regular basis. As far as backing up my important stuff is concerned, I have one folder where I keep all of my data and everything that I don't want to lose. That folder, of course, has many sub-folders in it including, data files, spread sheets, all of the installation files that I have downloaded and everything in my mail boxes. I simply back up that one folder which has everything on it.

What happens when one cannot do a back up cause a blue screen of death comes up, i have been looking for answers and not quite, sure how to state this. I did find a good answer on another website, but it was for vista 32bit, but it was right on with the issue at hand. For the past month my system has out of the blue , literally shutdown, i thought it was heat, vid card, i just looked up DPC and found an answer, but cant seem to reset it, any suggestions, cause i really dont want to reinstall. i am a firm beleiver in images. and i cant make one anymore, with windows or acronis. it crashes any where from 20 secs to 10 minutes in
