    Restoring backup and restore function

Recently uninstalled Acronis Ture Image Backup and replaced it as it caused a malfunction. While using it, the main screen was modified for the Acronis programs menu. Now I can no longer return to the original Backup and Restore page via the control panel to create restore points or image discs. How do I restore the page to it's original settings ?

You may have a System Restore to an earlier date than you have uninstalled Acronis .

Interesting, I have Acronis, and it never changed my backup and restore page. In any case, run the System File Checker:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Hi Bill I am not sure .... does it really check other than the operating system ?

Does it fixes the third party applications like Acronis ?

If I read the OP correctly, he isn't talking about fixing Acronis (he says he removed it). He's talking about Windows' backup and restore interface. I could be wrong, that's the way I read it? I'm sure the OP will elaborate. A Guy

That's right, I removed Acronis. When I was using it, it changed the Windows Backup and Restore page interface to an Acronis menu page. Now that I've removed it I can not access the original Windows 7 Backup and Restore interface from the control panel.

Now I'm backing up my system using Memeo software and a Seagate external hard drive. I'm able to create restore points using other software ( Windows Manager 7 & Tweak 7 Pro ).

What I'd like to be able to do is access the orginal Windows 7 Backup & Restore interface page so that I can create a Windows 7 64 bit system repair disc and a system image disc which I remember were on that page.

OK, that's what I thought, although Acronis never changed my page. But for this I again suggest running the System File Checker, which should restore original system files/

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
