    VHD backup

    Hi,

    I have a short question.

I recently did a clean install of Win 7 ultimate 32 bit
and after customizing, i made a backup.

Now that i want to restore, it cannot find it on my external HDD.
When i check i see that it has created a VHD file.

Is there a way to restore it non-virtually, so that it just boots from the C drive?

    Hi,

    You could try

Virtual Hard Disk - Create and Attach VHD

Once the image is mounted/attached you might then want to try

Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup to backup the VHD as an actual backup.
then System Image Recovery to restore the backup.
       Warning
Please read ALL tutorials correctly to avoid data loss

    Hope it helps

    Thanks,
Yes i tried all options from the manage backups in the control panel and even booting using the recovery disk.
I dont understand why it doesnt recognize the backup.

Only thing i did was creating a system image from the backup and restore function within control panel, and save it to my external HDD.
I did replace the backup on the ext drive to another folder could this be the problem?
When i navigate to the backup location it still doesnt see it. :S

You could always try to Boot from the VHD then run a backup which will create an actual backup file to restore from once you boot back your real OS.
