Windows 7: volume shadow copy service will not start

volume shadow copy service will not start

After Febuary's Windows update my system windows 7 professional SP1 I could not back up or restore my files. After many google searches I ran across this

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

on Microsoft Support website. I found out that I had corrupted files and was able render this fix without doing a clean install. The main problem was the virtdisk.dll which I able to copy of my laptop which as the same OS as my desktop. Just wanted to share.
