    lost programs

    Not sure what happened but lost programs. Is there anyway to find out if they are still in the computer? If I go to start and all programs the programs that I had are all gone except for ones I just down loaded to get put back into computer. Can anyone help me out here?

    Go to Start ---> Computer

    What do you see if you open the root drive (usually c: )?

    Hi, welcome to the forums :)

    Something in your registry may have been inadvertently changed. Perform a full system scan with MalwareBytes. You may even need to run a Repair Install.

    As Orbital Shark suggested, something may have changed in your registry.

    Have you tried System Restore? (seems to me my standard bit of advice for the day )

    The entries in All Programs are only shortcuts. Have a look into C > Program files. If they are there, open the folders of the programs in question and make new shortcuts from the program exes.

    I like Orbital Shark idea. What made them go away in the first place. If something changed the registry; what did it?
