Windows 7: Cannot Open Backup and Restore

01 May 2011   #11

1.Windows 7 Ultimate x64; 2.Windows 7 Ultimate x64

After much surfing the net to find an answer I finally discovered the problem. I had purchased an upgrade for Acronis True Image Home 2011 and used it for awhile. However, I didn't like the new interface and for some reason this new version of Acronis caused many applications to stop responding or it froze my whole system. I uninstalled the 2011 version and went back to my True Image Home 2010 version, which I prefer over the 2011 upgrade.
I found the answer to my problem in this discussion, offered by Daytona12:

Backup and Restore buttons not working

Everything is working fine now, thanks to Daytona12. I thank everybody for their time and assistance, mjf included.

You may have some problems you are not aware of yet. Try clicking on backup and after it fails to open, go to event viewer and see if there are any errors available pertaining to backup.

You posted while I was posting. Glad you got it to work. Great!!!
