Thanks for the alert. The Paragon people really try all angles to popularize their products. The do have excellent products, but maybe as a German company they are a bit at a disadvantage to make the real breakthru.

Be easier if you enable Private Messaging in your user CP.

User CP >Settings and Options>Edit Options

    - i attached the vhd created by windows backup as a separate drive, inside it i see the last backup created on 5/13/2011, but i dont know how to recover earlier versions (i checked with other backup done the same way, this is what's suppose to happen).
I gather you are able to attach the vhd based on the post.
It's not clear what you find when you explore the attached vhd.
Are you saying the file in question is not there?

Personally I do not like important information relegated to shadow storage. I always make a fresh image. With an "old" image I delete it, rename it or move it.

SIW2: i have "visitor messaging" enabled in my edit option. it looks almost exactly like this one: https://www.sevenforums.com/531527-post8.html but says "visitor messaging" on top as oppose to "private messaging".

mjf: when i browse the attached vhd i see the one folder that i was backing up -- current to 5/13

I assume you have it now. It was posted for an hour while you were on this thread.

If you post the shadowlist.txt , there may be a way to help.

    Recover from vhd

Why don’t you try any third party software solution? Simply use external VHD data recovery application and salvage your entire data. Just apply this tool and browse your vhd file on the software. Choose any one scanning option to starting recovery. After completing the entire scanning and recovering process, tool will show you the entire preview of items with its creating date, extension, file name etc.
