How to replace corrupted system files
Hi,
I am running windows 7 home premium 32 bit on a Toshiba Satellite model 1115D-S1125. Windows 7 came installed on the computer and has been running well until 2 weeks ago when I got a corrupted file, please run check disc utility message. I have run both check disk utility and the system file checker and have 3 corrupted system files, autochk.exe, msscntrs.dll, and msdtcprx.dll that windows could not replace or repair. Since my computer came with windows installed, I don't have a start-up or installation disc, so my question is, where can I get uncorrupted copies of these files and how do I replace the corrupted ones?
I am trying to avoid having to uninstall/reinstall windows. I have also made a recovery image using Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, but I wasn't able to figure out where the files would be in the recovery files.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated,
Katie
