partitioning and dual booting advice (netbook ...eeek)
I have a hp mini netbook.
And it runs windows 7 starter.
Im trying to put ubuntu on it also, as a dual boot.
I managed to shrink my drive, and i think it partitioned it, but its not 'allocated' as anything, i tried to namne it etc, but i got a warning that all other drives would be unbootable if i proceeded.
( i know i should also have made a back up recovery disc b4 shrinking the drive.. BUT have you ever tried to make a bootable recovery file for a netbook when u havnt got a usb dvd drive? forget it. I have a usb hdd, but couldnt seem to make a recovery file without the neet to use a dvd drive to make it bootable. oh well, its done now, and luckily everything seems ok, tho if u can give me the info on how to do this in future, it would be usefull. thanks)
So.. how do i get that unallocated hard disk space ready for my ubuntu experiment?
And how do i make it so ubuntu doesnt screw with my windows 7 boot up, but gives me a dual boot?
Thanks
