Windows Backup Question

Sort of a simple question.....if Windows alerts me that it skipped files on my backup, is the rest of the backup still ok? I am getting an error message about a file it cannot find but I don't care if the rest of the backup is OK.

Welcome
Back up and restore does not back up certain files by default, such as encrypted files or files that the user has directed it not to back up, other files should be ok

Thanks.....my skipped file appears to be a mapped network drive that I disconnected some time ago. I assume that lies somewhere in the registry. I am not concerned with the the error message as long as the balance of the backup would be fine. I just don't like the fact that Windows indicates Last backup as "Never"

To satisfy yourself, try to see if others that you are interested in can be restored. That is the only completely sure way to know.

So after my last PC got fried by a power surge I've been backing up my HDD (lost a HDD from it) with just the default W7 utility. I have little personal experience with B&R in Windows so I set it to do an image and file backup & selected the file locations I wanted backed up. After reading...

Windows Backup Question.
I was doing some research and it seems like the backup built into Windows 7 uses something similar to a disc image, I was wondering if I had a dual boot system using the same disk (different partitions) with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 if it would make a functioning backup of both or just 7? ...
