    System Restore monitoring Recovery Partition?

I've just been looking at my System Restore Configuration and I notice that it is turned on for the (Dell) Recovery Partition

Is it necessary for the Windows System Restore to monitor the Recovery Partition and if so - what is the Default % ?

I have asked this question at the Dell Forum but as yet have not had a definitive reply

Does anyone else have System Restore monitoring their Recovery Partiton?

    Thanks

I do not use recovery on any of my drives except the drive windows is located on.
I don't see the point in it monitoring the recovery partition as it should not ever be altered.

    Thanks for your Reply

That's what I was thinking - that the Recovery Partition should not be subject to alteration so therefore there doesn't seem much point in having the Windows System Restore (System Protection) monitoring it

I think it must have been turned on for the Recovery Partition by Default but I'm reluctant to turn things on or off unless I'm certain that it's ok

    Hey there,

Your recovery partition doesn't need to be monitored. It shouldn't change--that's kind of the point

Agreed. No need to monitor recovery partition. Here's how mine is set up.

I had a Dell up to last year and the recovery partition was never monitored, but if you're using system restore your Windows partition needs to be.

I have now turned off System Restore for the Recovery Partition

It remains on for the OS Drive

    Thanks for all your Replies
