OK, Windows 7 is installed. I had to use method 3 to activate, which I'm not crazy about. Is it possible to work around this by activating over the phone?
OK. It just came up with something about an unauthorized change before I restarted after the activation. Didn't have any problems when I restarted, though, but it didn't say it was activated either.

I'm making some progress now with my new W7 install on MBR via a UEFI motherboard.
I have a question: After first deleting the original install partition with a program that has a GUI (don't remember its name) the Disk 1 partition showed as 'Logical'. After using the app to create a 'Primary'...

Thank you.

What happens if I turn it off and on again.
Should I convert it...
Hi, I have an external USB hard drive. I would like to use it, with Acronis 2010,
for the backup images of my Windows 7 premium 64bit.
Should I make it a logical drive? or a primary?
Would it make any difference if I had to boot up from a recovery DVD to be able to find and locate the USB drive?...
