Restoring Laptop but leaving windows 7 on

Hi, new member here. Am looking to restore my Acer Aspire 7540 as it now is running extremely slow and could do with strating again. Could someone please advice me of how to do this in a way that leaves windows 7 on there as it came preinstalled when i bought the laptop and i dont have the disk.
    Cheers.

Hello pfjeden, welcome to Seven Forums!

Be advised: doing this will over-write all data on the PC and it will not be recoverable at all.

Here are the standard Acer Recovery Instructions

    1. Power on the machine
    2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery
    3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
    4. Click “OK” to continue
    5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
    6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

    Acer Aspire System Recovery Partition

As well as having a recovery partition you also have the ability to create your own set of recovery disks.

Whenever you buy a new computer, setting it up, READING THE MANUAL and creating recovery disks are the first things you should do - before disaster strikes.

Take a look at the program, Acer Empowering Technology > Acer eRecovery Management.

Manual how to use Acer eRecovery Management here:

Have you tried pressing <Alt+F10> at boot up, to goto the Acer eRecovery Management.

I have an ACER Aspire - BFK's original advice should work. Keep the alt+F10 both pressed until you see some action.

If that fails you should be able to boot directly into the ACER recovery partition - I certainly can.
