Hello trix333ninja, welcome to Seven Forums!

Look around in the Windows 7 start menu for anything that says Acer for a link to creating the recovery disk set, be advised: some recovery disk sets require the presence of the recovery partition and will not function correctly if it is not present.

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a maximized snip of that.

There should be an ACER e-Recovery program under "programs".
I'd make the DVDs (~2) and you can also store away the ISOs if you wish.

I also have a Macrium image of the recovery partition. It works fine when reimaged to a new HDD in case your existing HDD fails.

I'd also suggest you do an ordinary image before installing UBUNTU.

Make a complete image backup of your system.

You are going to be walking into deep waters.

With Win 7 built-in backiup and restore you can make a SYSTEM IMAGE backup of all partitions so that you can restore your computer in case of a disaster.

For the restore you will need a SYSTEM REPAIR DISC.

Since you want to put both Win 7 and Ubuntu on your hard disk, then I suggest purchasing a Win 7 DVD so that you are not dependent upon any ACER discs.

DISC - CREATE A SYSTEM REPAIR DISC
START | type System Repair | Enter key | Create Disc button

I'd burn DVDs for the 2 options offered. However, mainly the "factory default disks" - these will be your recovery disks.
The first partition is your recovery partition and I suggest you download Macrium Reflect (free) imaging and image at least the first 3 partitions. It's a well respected program here and easy to use. There is a tutorial on it here and a download link under the free programs section.

The 2nd partition is the system reserved and is necessary for booting Windows with your configuration.

Don't try to format your linux partitions as NTFS primary or you will make your disk a Dynamic disk (not good).

    Hello again.

After you have created the factory recovery disks for safe-keeping.

You can do a complete clean install of Windows 7 using the actual installation media instead of your factory loaded system, have a look through this information at the link below.

Using the Acer Recovery DVD's will delete all partitions, take you back to factory default.
