I have a Windows 7 ultimate machine. The system drive is a raid 0 ICHR10 set of 2 WD 750G drives
The backup ALWAYS fails with an error about 'unable to read blocks from drive x'. Not all, just some. There is a backup after it completes.
I looked through the error log and sure enough, it showed read errors for the system drive.
Then once, after it crashed, it took 24 hours + to verify the drive and had a few errors,it corrected.
So, one of the 2 drives in the raid1 is bad.
I buy 2 new 750g Black drives. I let the raid rebuild onto one of them, and then rebuild new to new.
Go to do backup. Same problem. Read errors. So I know its NOT hardware failures.
This is an ICHR10 using Intel storage manager for Raid 1. I am thinking the raid controller is at fault. Or the Raid controller driver has a bug.
Any thoughts?
