    Lost Disk Partition

    Hi

I have my hard drive partitioned into two parts. C: where I keep windows and program files, e: where I keep all my other files

All of a sudden, my E drive is showing up in My Computer as 'Removable Storage', and when I try and click on it, it says "Please insert a disk into removable disk (E:)"

When I look in my Disk Manager, it shows that partition as Free Space

Any ideas what might be going on here? Any suggestions on how to recover all my data?

Hi Sanfly .... welcome aboard :)

Can you please post a screenshot of your disk management window ?

You may use Recuva to try a recovery .

If it fails, try the partition recovery option of the Partition Wizard Bootable CD .

Are you sure that there was not just a change of partition numbering.

It looks like something has taken over the partition letter assignment for E:
which is often a CD/DVD drive assignment letter.
Did you recently install a DVD device or what letter was any existing CD drive before?
Did you recently install a virtual CD drive (eg. Daemon tools)?

I doubt you will have lost your data but a screenshot of Disk management as suggested is required.
