As I have spent all my budget on new hardware, I dont want to spend more on Macrium to get the differential backup facility, so I made a backup of the data on my old XP machine using ntbackup.

Then copied the ntbackup.exe and dlls required to my new Win 7 machine. Restored the data to my blank D: partition. Problem is I got a huge long report complaining "Insufficient privilege for the file xxx - skipped"

So I check some of the files "skipped" and find that they have been restored ok to my new drive, but it leaves me worried that my restore may not be 100% ok.

I ran the backup and restore runs logged in as administrator. How can I get rid of this annoying insufficient privelege error?

After a bit of googling around, I tried r clicking the ntbackup.exe and selecting "run as administrator" instead of just double clicking it to start it off.

    Worked fine!:)
