system recovery seems to be stuck

    Hello,

My win7 x64 desktop box developed a problem this morning with the ACLS file that Windows diagnostics could not fix. After several attempts, I decided to do a non-destructive re-set via the recovery management software included with the box (eMachines 1331, which came with no disks, only recovery partition).

The process seemed to go smoothly, but the Restore Progress screen has been sitting at 'Please wait a moment...' for well over an hour now and I'm puzzled. Shouldn't there be some sort of progress bar indicating how long remaining in the process, or is it meant to just sit on the 'Please wait a moment...' with the trailing dots cycling from 1 to 5 dots as it is doing?

The drive is 683 gigs usable, with about 50% in use for files and programs.

Any ideas? How long should this process take?

I should also mention that I have Googled repeatedly in an attempt to get an answer to this, but could find nothing.

    Thanks!

Sorry to necro slightly, but having the same issue with nearly the same specs.

    eMachines 1831-07, 700gig HD, Win7 x64.

I am also attempting a non-destructive restore from the system restore disks created via wizard. All steps worked well, but I am also sitting at step 5/6 "Restore Progress", where it is hung at "Please wait a moment..."

The ellipses are cycling, but no other activity for an hour.
