    Macrium Free question?

I downloaded the free version, created an image to an external hard drive, and created a boot disc. All went well until I checked to see if the boot disc would actually boot. It did, but I had no mouse function to move the curser to NEXT. What did I do wrong and how to I correct it? I tried to move the curser with the arrows buttons, but that did not work either.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bill

The boot disk is similar to a linux live cd (if you used that version and not BartPE) so you'll need a mouse that can be detected (i.e. basic usb no drivers needed)

If you're using a wireless and or bluetooth mouse it's not likely to work in the boot disk.

Also, you may have to connect it straight to the computer and not through any hubs.

    Thanks notsograymatter

It was the mousepad on my laptop that did not work. I plugged in the old usb mouse, and it worked like a charm.

    Thanks.

Don't forget TAB and RETURN from the old DOS days!! That moves you around and selects on-screen buttons from the keyboard

    Quick question if I may,

Does the new version offer WinPe capability?

Way back when I used Macrium Reflect the BartPe (well at least in XP)was a good one. Can a link be posted here for plugins? Soemone might need it:)

    Thanks:)

WinPE is available in the paid version natively. I believe that the free version supports downloading the WAIK and creating a PE disk from that via the wizard. The WAIK is rather a large download however.

-- Yeah 1gb download. I was to make a WinPe boot media for ATI Home 2011 but it needed the WAIK. (which was also a topic I posted in this section).

    Thanks

The pain depends on your download capabilities. I made the pe disk and it works fine on DVD or as an ISO on a multiboot USB.
Make sure you select the option to include additional drivers after boot.
