"Scan and Fix" corrupted all pictures in SD card

Hi. I got a problem here. I inserted the SD card into the laptop and it asked me to "Scan and Fix (Recommended)" so I did it.

After that, I checked the drive, it just left 1 folder and another 4 files inside the SD card. (actually inside of the SD card got 5 folders before i did the "Scan and Fix"). After the "scan and fix", 4 of the folders had been replace with a file of the same name, and they became smaller in size (32.0KB). The files were converted to files without extensions, what file extension would you try out? The original folders contained mostly jpg files and a mov file.

I went into the only remaining folder and i found that the pictures are still there, but when i opened the jpg file, it shown "Photo gallery cant open this picture or video. The file appears to be damaged or corrupted."... The same things happened to every single file inside the folders. Does anyone know any program that can repair these damaged or corrupted files???

Does anybody know how to solve this problems? Or does anyone know any method to recover the folders that contained jpg file and mov file from the SD card?

    Thanks:)

    bluediscuz,

SD cards seem to have a short lifetime. Try to backup/save data from them as early as possible. Run ChkDsk /R over them.

you can try Recuva Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download

This program is designed for photo recovery and has been recommended by others, but I've never used the program: PhotoRec - CGSecurity

I can recommend Recuva as suggested by karlsnooks, but more importantly, it is always best to transfer your images from the memory card to your computer before you do any kind of editing.

If you need to format your memory card it is always better to let your camera do the job while the card is still in the camera. It has been known for a Windows-based format to corrupt the card.

karlsnooks>> Hi, i tried to run chkdsk and install the recuva already just now. but it still the same. It shown "windows has checked the file system and found no problems". Maybe the recuva is only work for those files that have been deleted, however those folders and files in my SD card is the files that i never delete before, because those pictures are new. I' ll try the PhotoRec later. Anyway, thanks for your help =)

boohbah>> do you mean you want to look how the files look like? by printscreen?
